Shattered Layer Studio is two printers, one workshop, and is where the awkward make the oddities.

We make novelty items, collectibles, and oddities out of Reno, Nevada — Figurines, keychains, tip jars, game boards, and whatever else we can talk ourselves into printing. Some of it is functional. Some of it is just weird.

We also paint. The abstract pieces are painted on 5×5 canvas using a spinner we made from a modified computer fan, also utilizing different objects and methods to get unique designs. It’s layer on layer, and knowing when to stop is part of the process. No two come out the same.

The scrap doesn’t get thrown out either. Leftover filament gets melted down and poured into molds, so those pieces come out unrepeatable too. It’s a messy, time consuming process that has to happen outdoors, but we are happy to help reduce plastic waste by making special pieces that are truly unique with the scrap.

Everything here is made by us, one piece at a time.
