This original acrylic pour painting was created by hand at Shattered Layer Studio in Reno, Nevada. A wide field of deep black flows in from the right, meeting a band of burnt orange along the left edge. Where they collide, fine streaks of metallic copper and silver ripple through the paint, catching the light and breaking into delicate lacing and cells. Low in the dark, a few copper shapes curl and drift on their own. Some people see a flame, some see a canyon at dusk, some see something stirring in the shadows. What you find in it is up to you.

The 5×5 inch canvas is mounted on a soft cream felt backing and set inside a black wood-grain frame with an 8×8 inch display opening. The light backing makes the dark pour stand out sharp and bold. It’s displayed without a front cover so the texture and metallic shimmer of the pour stay visible and catch the light. The frame has an attached easel stand for desks, bookshelves, and mantels, plus a wall hanger if you’d rather hang it.
